This is Day 3 of a 30 Day Post-a-Healthy-Picture challenge
Back flips – Mar 2013
D: Those shapes are the reflection on the top of the water and that’s the man at the top of the ladders. That’s the sun shining through the window, and that’s us swimming – there.
D: I feel sick because I drank too much in the swimming pool. I don’t like one thing about swimming now, when I think about the water.
Me: You’re not meant to drink the swimming pool, you’re meant to keep your mouth shut when you’re under the water!
D: I did!
Me: So how did you drink the water if you had your mouth shut – did you take a straw in?
D: No… That would be silly!
Me: Perhaps you should have a snorkel next time?
D: Yes – that’s it! That’s a GREAT idea!
Me: Well… Snorkels and masks are for learning to dive, and you can’t learn to dive until you can swim a few lengths of the pool, first.
D: But diving‘s not allowed in the swimming pool.
Me: Diving INTO the water’s not allowed, but I’m talking about diving UNDER the water – sub aqua diving. I used to do that – it was great! There’s a whole different world under the sea – like in Finding Nemo, with all kinds of fishes swimming past.
D: Did you want to see a shark?
Me: Only if it was quite far away.
D: I bet you didn’t want to see a HUMPBACK WHALE? They’re the biggest creature in this world!
Me: Only if they were quite far away too.
D: Are they bigger than the sea?
Me: No – otherwise how would they fit IN the sea?!
D: Oh yes.
Pirates, boats and beaches – Nov 2012
D: It’s pirates – they’re the beaches [circles at the top], with trees on them and an ‘X marks the spot’. That’s the boat [centre], and I did someone swimming there [below the boat] – that’s their hair going up.
That one’s [left] got poorly legs because they’re all bendy and he needs to go to the doctor – a pirate doctor.
D: You know we said yesterday that we can do something that I like doing, then something that you like, then something that I like and then something that you like?
Me: Yes?
D: Well we went in the pool all yesterday, so today we can do something YOU like! What do you want to do? Go swimming? I REALLY want to go swimming – can we go swimming?
