This is day 24 of a Post-a-Healthy-Picture 30 day challenge.
Son: It’s sunny! And I know why it’s sunny. In singing assembly yesterday we sang the Spring Song, because it wasn’t quite ready and we has to help it. That’s why it’s sunny today!
D: I heard Gangnam Style at Edward’s house today – he’s got a CD player like me and it was on there – “Oop, oop, oop, Gangnam Style!” Oh look! I put my pyjama bottoms on inside-out and both my legs are stuck in one hole! Wouldn’t it be funny if, in the pictures for Gangnam Style, the man did that – and put his pyjama bottoms on inside out, with both his legs in one hole?
D: [singing]

And this is crazy

And all the other boys
Try to chase me – not ‘cake’ me, not splat some cake in her face!
Me: We can play that song in the car if you like – I downloaded it.
D: What’s ‘downloaded’?
Me: On the Internet. You click on a file that you want, like this song, and then it sends that file to your computer or phone – after you’ve paid for it.
D: How can you pay for it on your phone? Is there a little hole where you can put your money in?
Me: No. You know what banks are – where people keep their money?
D: Yes.
Me: Well, after you’ve clicked on the things you want to buy, the website says “We’re going to take this much money out of your bank account – is that OK?” And then you say “yes” and you’ve bought it.
D: How can they know that you’ve said “yes” – can they hear you?
Me: No – it’s a button that you click on – “yes” or “no”.
D: I’ve got that on my iPad [innotab]!!! Sometimes, when I ask for a new page it says “Are you sure? If you have a new page you will lose your art.” And I press on “yes”, because I think it’s really rubbish. Not all the time though. Same sort of message though, isn’t it? Lots of things use it.
Me: Yes – it’s an “are you sure?” question.
D: You know when they say “We’ve all got bruises” on the radio?
Me: You mean the song?
D: Yes. Well, not everybody gets bruises DO they?
Me: Yes, everybody gets bruises – you’d have to be a robot not to bruise.
D: What – everybody? Even God?
Me: Umm… Yes, I think he probably does.
D: But that’s IMPOSSIBLE! Everybody can’t get bruises on the same day – I’ve checked and I haven’t got any bruises. So it means one day everyone has them, the next day they don’t have them, the next day they do have them…
Me: I don’t think the song means that everybody gets a bruise on the same day – I think it just means that we can all get bruised… On different days.
D:

D: Here’s an important matter;
How we should behave at school,
You should never ever ever kick, punch, smack,
And never make someone cry because you’re being so rough,
And you should definitely, definitely, definitely, definitely never ever punch someone in the… willy!
– It’s a song that my teacher taught us today and we’re going to sing it EVERY day!
I didn’t believe it or understand what it means before, but I understand what it means now.
