On last weekend’s shopping trip Dylan wanted to get me something for Mother’s Day, so I set the budget and closed my eyes whilst he hunted for something and hid it in the trolley, telling the check-out person at the end to hide it too!
I’ve just retrieved ‘the chocolates’ from the bookshelf in Dylan’s room, as instructed. Surprise! ❤

Son: Mum! Come and look at my time machine I made!
Mum: Oh yes, it’s made out of your clothes that you’re supposed to be putting on!
Son: Yeah. Think of a time and it takes you back to it. I need to stick the bits together though.
Mum: Maybe YOU could be the glue that holds them all together?
Son: No – that wouldn’t work. Mum, at the weekend – not this weekend when I’m at my Dad’s but the next one – can we make a REAL time machine?
Mum: Um. Yeees, we can try…
Son: Will we be on the news?
Mum: If it works, I’m sure we’d be on the news!
Son: We’d better make sure it works then!

Mum: What’s this in your book bag?
Son: Oh that’s from Lucy from her holiday. It’s a heart and she writed my name on it. Leo and Jaimie got badges but she only had two badges so she gave the rest of us boys hearts.
Jaimie said he was going to ask his mum if they could go to a shop and buy some more badges so I could have one.

D: I’ve got something in my book bag that’s a surprise for Mother’s Day on Sunday – so you have NOT got to look in it until I’ve got it out and put it upstairs.
Me: OK.
[Comes into kitchen with a piece of paper in both hands]
D: You can see THIS picture I did – it’s a picture of a blue whale for you.
[D hands me the picture and exits the kitchen]
Me: Great – thanks.
D: You didn’t see the card I had in my other hand, did you?
Me: No.
D: Good. I’m going to hide it in my bedroom.
[Goes upstairs]…
[Comes back downstairs]
D: You know my story CDs?
Me: Yes?
D: I’ve hidded the card with them – don’t look at it will you, when you put a story CD on tonight?
Me: OK – I won’t look.
