GIRAFFE USES COLOUR TO STAND OUT
Boy: It’s a giraffe with a really colourful pattern on its neck.
Age 5
It’s a car and it’s all camouflaged!
Shiny peacock
D: You know what that is don’t you?
Me: Is it a peacock?
D: Yes! And we had to use shiny paper coz that’s all they had to use.
Zebras
D: They’re all zebras – that’s a pattern.
Me: Why are they all on top of one another?
D: They’re not! They’re just lined up. Do you know why that one’s a bit further back? ‘Cause he’s a bit slow.
A lift-the-flap picture – Jan 2013
D: Look – it’s you under the flap, mummy! I didn’t have time to put your hair on though.
Me: That’s lovely. The pattern on the paper looks like giraffe fur.
D: It is – I didn’t know we weren’t supposed to use the giraffe paper, but Mrs V said it was all right.
Christmas tea light holder – Dec 2012
D: I made it out of play dough at school – it’s for putting one of those candles in metal in.
We could do any pattern we wanted and I did a Christmas tree in mine! Can we see how it works?
