Today Dylan made a bag to keep his marbles in out of an old T-Shirt (I helped a little with the name on the front).
For a first-time attempt, I thought it deserved an 8 out of 10. Dylan agreed; he thought the drawstring was awesome but the bag could have perhaps been decorated a little more (but not today). We could have also used draw strings at either side for an easier close.

Let us know what you think?
Me: Look, Dylan – I got your clothes machine ready for you, so you can get dressed quickly, like you did before!
D: No tops, Mum – it doesn’t work with them! Look – if I start at this end and put the T-Shirt on, then the shirt, then I’ll put my head in my pants, then in my trousers and then in my socks – and my head won’t fit in my socks. The tops can’t be part of the machine.
D: I’ve got an idea that’s going to make it quicker; I’m building a machine! This is my machine:
You hold a cup under the tap and it catches the water. Then you dip your toothbrush in the cup, and then you clean your teeth – superfast! It’s called ‘SpeedyTeeth’. [Brushes teeth]
…How quick was that? Was it just in one minute?
Me: Yes.
D: Now I’m going to build a machine for getting dressed quickly. You might remember this machine… [Lays his clothes and shoes out in the shape of a person.]
Do you remember it?
Me: Yes.
D: Yeah – you know this machine – it’s called ‘Invisible Man Dress that Comes Alive and Gets Dressed’ – it makes me get dressed quicker [climbs into clothes].
Top…Trousers… Oh man – I forgot my pants and socks in the machine!
D: My eyebrow is all scratchy and it hurts.
Me: Looks like you’ve got a midge bite – the wet weather’s brought lots of midges out.
D: What’s a midge bite?
Me: A midge is a type of fly that buzzes and bites – it lands on you and its bite is like a tiny injection – it sucks blood out of you, and makes you all itchy.
D: What does it DO with the blood?
Me: Nothing, it’s just a blood-sucker – it just flies around with your blood in it.
D: What will happen if ALL the flies come along and suck out ALL of my blood?
Me: That won’t happen – you’re way bigger than them and your body will know some blood has been taken and make some more.
D: HOW does it make more blood?
Me: It’s just clever like that…
D: Is there a machine that makes blood inside my body?
Me: Your body is a machine.
D: But that would make us robots… Am I a robot?
