Dylan’s been selected for Philosophy Club – an elite club of eight 7yr old classmates lol!
D’s teacher: “They go out for an hour on Tuesday afternoons and have a think – they think through things by using drama and art.”
D: “We go out for the whole afternoon on a Tuesday for fun and games. We think about thinking.”
My work colleague: “That’s a new way to do detentions!”
We cycled past this spirited bunch on the Stony Stratford Riverside Walk again yesterday and they were still taking it in turns to climb up onto the log and survey their peers from a different perspective before leaping off – with a great big BAAAAA!
Me: Look it’s been snowing again overnight – look at the cars!
D: Will there be snow at school today?
Me: Well yes – they might have cleared a path, but there’ll be snow.
D: Because the other day, a man came and sprinkled snow dust all over the place and it MELTED the snow into ice and we’re not allowed to play on the ice. There was just a line of snow left and all the children were on one side of the line and all you could do was walk – up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down on the line. It was sooooo boring!
Wiggly Slides – Oct 2012
D: They’re all wiggly slides and that black one’s a bumpy one – it’s got bumps all the way down.
D: What were you doing at home today?
Me: I was working from home today because I felt a bit poorly.
D: But what have you been DOING, working?
Me: I’ve been writing lots of words on the computer and emailing lots of people.
D: That’s not work – that sounds like FUN! I wish I could do that.
