Me: Yay! A man’s coming round in half an hour to look at the leaky ceiling!
D: Will he fix it?
Me: I don’t know – I think water’s overflowing from the water tank in the loft. If it is that, and not a hole in the roof – he’ll be able to fix it.
D: What’s ‘overflowing’?
Me: When the tank that the water’s in gets too full and the water spills over the top of it.
D: Oh. And it breaks the ceiling?
Me: Yes. I’ll be relieved if he can fix it.
D: Yes – he might bring round a REALLY BIG piece of sticky tape to fix it…
